Pharmacology Core

About the Pharmacology Core
  • The Center for Drug Design (CDD) Pharmacology Core aims to facilitate medicinal chemists' efforts to discover new lead candidates with proper drug-like properties, and to obtain research funding and publish academic research findings.

  • The Pharmacology core is supported by the CDD and was initially established to provide high-quality ADMET, PK, and toxicology studies. Since 2014, our work has contributed to the successful funding of 7 NIH grants and the publication of more than 40 peer‑reviewed papers.
Instrumentation
  • The Pharmacology Core is equipped with a state-of-the-art LC-MS instrument (Agilent 1260 HPLC and AB Sciex QTrap 5500 MS) that is used to detect and quantitate small molecules in biological matrices.
  • The Core also manages an Agilent 6230B Time of Flight LC/MS system with capability of high resolution mass.
  • The Core has licensed Phoenix WinNonlin software for PK data analysis and modeling.
