I am a virus enthusiast interested in exploring deeper insights into the mechanism of viral diseases and finding key antiviral targets for therapeutic drug development.

As a part of CDD and Geraghty research group, my current research is focused on targeting viral RNA processing enzymes crucial for efficient replication of viruses. The major roles include the establishment of virological assays and the screening of rationally designed compounds to identify the lead compound. Further characterization of lead compound can help initiate drug development. Another major aspect of my work also involves exploring the role of enzymes involved in viral genome packaging and assembly. It includes purification of key enzymes complexes and identifying active molecules to target their function.

I started my early years in research by working as a Research Assistant where I studied the Host-Pathogen interactions and investigated a few inhibitors targeting specific pathways. Later, I held position as Junior research fellow at Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) where my research expanded to Allergy and Immunobiology. Continuing my research interests, PhD thesis work on HIV-1 fascinated me more towards viruses and I am continuing my pursuit of research in virology.
